Adjustable Stainless Steel Spigot #2205
Industrial-grade 2205 duplex stainless steel glass spigot, engineered to North American railing load standards and independently lab-tested to ISO 9227:2017 — 200 hours of neutral salt spray exposure with no visible corrosion. Built for residential, commercial, and marine-exposed installations from Vancouver to Miami.
Why duplex 2205 (and not 304 or 316)?
Most glass spigots on the market are made from 304 or 316 stainless. We use duplex 2205 — a high-performance alloy specifically engineered to outperform both in corrosive environments. The numbers tell the story:
- Pitting Resistance Equivalent (PREN) above 35 — versus ~25 for 316
- Yield strength 623 MPa — nearly 3× stronger than 304 (~210 MPa)
- 200 hours salt spray exposure with zero significant corrosion — the equivalent of years of coastal weathering
This is the same grade specified for offshore oil platforms, desalination plants, and waterfront architecture. It's not "marine-grade" as a marketing phrase — it's marine-grade as a metallurgical specification.

Corrosion testing
Subjected to 200 continuous hours of neutral salt spray testing per ISO 9227:2017 — the international benchmark for marine-grade hardware certification.
- Test conditions: 35°C chamber temperature, 5% sodium chloride solution, pH 6.8
- Continuous exposure: 200 hours (verification samples photographed at 48h, 96h, 144h, 192h, 200h)
- Result: no significant change to the sample surface
For context, standard 304 stainless typically shows visible corrosion well before 200 hours in the same test. This level of resistance is what makes duplex 2205 the right choice for poolside, coastal, and high-humidity installations.
Load capacity
Independently load-tested using a 12mm toughened glass panel (1170 × 2000 mm) supported by two spigots at 1390 mm spacing:
Uniformly distributed vertical load
- 350 N/m applied (1050 N total): 0 mm permanent deflection
- 750 N/m applied (2250 N total): 0 mm permanent deflection
Uniformly distributed horizontal load
- 350 N/m applied (1050 N total): 3 mm permanent deflection
- 750 N/m applied (2250 N total): 16 mm permanent deflection (maximum allowable: 30 mm)
All tests passed within engineering tolerance, meeting AS1170 railing load standards and exceeding typical North American residential and commercial guardrail load requirements.
Applications
- Pool fencing and surrounds (residential and commercial)
- Glass deck and patio railings
- Balcony balustrades
- Outdoor stair handrails
- Marine and coastal installations
- Commercial entrance railings
- Mezzanine and interior guardrails
Suitable for both interior and exterior use across all North American climates — from indoor humidity-controlled spaces to direct coastal salt-air exposure.
